Ferrari 360

New for 2000 Ferrari 360 Modena

The 360 Modena is an all-new sports car from the Italian automaker. Replacing the F355, the 360 Modena features an aluminum intensive chassis as well as a more powerful V8 engine.

Introduction

Since the late 1970s the Ferrari model range has included a mid-engine V8 coupe, and until now that spot was occupied by the F355. Replacing the 348 in 1994, the F355 contained Ferrari's first road-going engine with five valves per cylinder. In recent years, Ferrari has made major gains in quality, reliability and ergonomics, and these gains are reflected in the new 360. Similar to the 550 Maranello, which was named for the city where Ferraris are built, the 360 Modena honors the city where Enzo Ferrari set up his Scuderia. As is common with Ferrari sports cars, styling of the 360 is heavily influenced by Italian designer Pininfarina. The newest Ferrari also makes extensive use of aluminum. Performance has also been enhanced using several items from Ferrari's Formula One race car.

World Longest Ferrari

Believe it or not, the world's first-ever Ferrari stretch limo: a 23-foot 360 Modena with eight seats and the biggest electric gullwing doors we've ever seen.

It's the handiwork of Style Limousines in Manchester, which spent more than £200,000 modifying the rear-engined 360.

All eight of the seats are carbon-fibre buckets with five-point race harnesses - which might sound excessive until you discover that the 3.6-litre V8 remains, its 395bhp propelling the mega-Ferrari to 60mph in under six seconds.

Those gull-wing doors are nine-foot long and were designed by one of the teams responsible for the Mercedes SLR McLaren.

Ferrari hosts RM Auction Event May 17th, 2009 in Pista di Fiorano to set price records for auction sales; car guys ready, waiting, and already breathing heavy.

Ferrari Auctions Get Celebrity and International Superstar Auto Collectors Geared Up and Ready

The list of auction inventory for the event reads like it includes everything but the kitchen sink. However, at the 2009 auto auction sponsored by Ferrari, the real item missing from the sales lot inventory is, funny enough, simply an Enzo.

Maserati MC-12 to go to Millionaire bidding the highest

Start your auction wish list with with a Maserati MC-12 Corsa for sale instead of a Ferrari Enzo and you'll be ready for the bidding. Projected to sell for at or near a million and a half dollars (depending on the cars provenance [origin and source]), some lucky automobile bidder is certain to be a fortunate winner despite any withdrawal made from their personal bank for this collector classic Italian automobile.

Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa Expected to Shatter Records for Rare Car Sale at Auction

Ferrari cars are expensive. Ultra-rare Ferrari cars in mint condition are pound for pound almost as priceless as human air. However, if one follows Ferrari news, they will undoubtedly hear reports about the Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa expected to shatter price records at the RM sale in the 2009 year. How much is a priceless Ferrari like this worth? Factors in setting the price include the following considerations.

Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa 1950s Race Winner Heads to Auction Block

Scaglietti pontoon-fendered bodywork. A racing pedigree history that includes a victory at La Mans in 1958, 19 races it started between 1958 and 1961, and having been driven by race legends Phil Hill and Olivier Gendebien. The car itself, chassis #0714TR, is painted black with a red nose and matching red leather seats. Ralph Lauren owns not only one of the models of it's kind, but two (according to Luxist.com) -- making this car a delicious option to flavor in any celebrity eye-candy garage regardless of its use or function.

In auctioneers opinion the car, "looks poised to shatter the $10.89 million record set last year by a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder". *sigh*

Passion for automobiles is a beautiful thing. Buyers be ready. These classic collectible Ferrari and Maserati cars being sold at auction are all expected to sell for a premium price, despite all the economic downturns in the rest of the automobile industry.

FERRARI 456

The Ferrari you can pick the kids up in…

As if the mass of ridiculously expensive DAMIEN HIRST art baubles inside SOTHEBY’S auction house in London weren’t enough to satiate our optic nerves, this not-for-sale little piece of eye candy just happened to be parked on the street outside to blow our little mind. The automobile in question is the incredibly rare FERRARI 456 VENICE STATION WAGON, a painfully limited-edition vehicle designed and built by Ferrari styling house PININFARINA for the royal family of the SULTANATE OF BRUNEI. Featuring four doors, a proper backseat, a hatchback, and a 20 cm longer wheelbase, this vehicle is similar in size to a BMW 5 series wagon with all the styling and cylindrical ferocity of a dancing horse. This is art on wheels. HAVE A LOOK:

It's 1961, the Scarabs have been sold to new owners in the Midwest and the Cobra project is still fulminating in the mind of Carroll Shelby. In the interim, California road courses are dominated by Maserati Type 61 "Birdcages" and Jurassic-era V8 powered Specials. The photos on this site document an age when the power source was still in front, and giants like Bill Krause, Bob Drake, Ken Miles and others ruled West Coast racing. At least they seemed like giants to me, at 13.

Who's that goofy-looking kid standing by Ed Leslie's Lotus 20 in front of the old Leslie Motors in Monterey?

I'd received a Voigtlander Bessa I medium format camera for my birthday and I used it to take photos at California sports car races between July, 1961, and April, 1962. I've carefully saved these treasured possessions for over 40 years.

Scans of my Kodacolor prints from 1961-62 are listed below as well as a few photos contributed by others. "Special Sections" includes more of my work from 1961-62, my recent photography from historic racing events, and photos and info contributed to the site by other photographers. (Link below!) World Fastest Ferrari

Obviously, one of the most trusted names in exotic cars is Ferrari. Ferrari for decades has created one masterpiece after another. While many of the cars that Ferrari creates are quite fast and look great, many focus on high performance and handling rather than incredible speed. However, one car thatFerrari recently created is a speed demon and considered to be the fastestFerrari ever produced- the Ferrari Enzo.

Tech Specs
While many purists might not like the shape of this vehicle, its body was created for extreme control at top speeds. Ferrari created only 400 of these vehicles which came to market in 2003 and 2004. They each come with a monster powerplant that delivers 660 horsepower from a V12. The Speed of this demon is a shocking 218 mph and besides an incredible top speed, also offers acceleration beyond most enthusiast’s comprehension- 0 to 60 in about 3.3 seconds.

The Enzo offers a six speed clutchless sequential manual transmission and offers the feature of steering wheel paddle shifters. The cost of this beauty- $650K, choice of colors includes red, yellow and black and only 100 ever made it to the states.

The Ferrari Enzo is a car unlike most others in that it utilized cutting edge technology to ensure that at high speeds, this vehicle stuck to the road. It is designed to have enough down force to stick to the road and since the vehicle employs spoilers, as well as movable foils as your speed increases, so does the aerodynamics of this vehicle. The vehicle itself is made from high ffiber and a material called Nomax. For those looking for the fastest Ferrari ever made, the Ferrari Enzo is possibly the one that tops the list.
